Bio-sketch

Prof. Sanjeeve Thakur joined erstwhile DIT (presently NSUT) in June 1992 as a faculty. Presently, he is serving as a Professor since July 2013 in the Department of Chemistry.  He has done his M.Sc. from the University of Delhi in 1986 and Ph.D. from Bhagalpur University in 1989. He has been a life member of several learned societies, viz. Indian Science Congress, Indian Chemical Society, National Academy of Sciences, Indian Council of Chemists, Indian Society of Analytical Scientists, BARC, and a few others.

Prof. Thakur has received the ‘Medal of Honor’ from the American Biographical Institute, North Carolina, USA in the year 2000.

Several Ph.D. students have been awarded doctorate degree under his supervision and at present six students are pursuing research under his guidance. He has a number of publications which is quite obvious from his profile. Besides teaching and research, he has been involved in a number of administrative and student related activities. Recently, he has completed six years (two terms) of Dean, Faculty of Science and one term each for Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies and Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. He has also served as Chief Warden, Superintendent of Exams, Head of Office, Registrar, Head of Library Services, Chairman, Library Advisory Committee, etc. Presently, he is holding the positions of Head, Department of Chemistry and Controller of Finance of NSUT.
